Customers
may
arrange
for
service
by
phone,
mail,
fax,
or
in
person
at
our
office.
The
applicant
must
provide
two
forms
of
identification:
-
one
of
which
must
be a government issued photo ID card, such as a drivers
license, and
-
the second form of ID can be a birth certificate, a SSN
card, a debit or credit card, etc...
Customers who have recently purchased a home must provide a deed or real estate contract.
Customers who are renting must provide a BPU Lease / Rental form completed by their landlord or a legal rent / lease agreement.
New Service Connections:
Connecting service for a new construction may take up
to 2 weeks, depending on the weather and other conditions. When you come in, you will need the 911 address,
a copy of the septic system application, and a lot number if in a subdivision. New service fees apply.
Connection of an Existing Service / Transfer of Service:
Starting, stopping, or transferring service can usually
be done by the following business day. There is a connection fee of $25.00 to connect or transfer
an existing service. This is a non-refundable fee.

Security
Deposits
The standard deposit for residential customers is
Electric $300.00 and Water $25.00. A credit check is performed to determine the amount of
deposit you will need. Commercial deposits are based on type of business and account history.

Reconnect
Policy
The reconnect fee during office hours is $30.00 in the city, and $40.00 in the county.
After working hours, the fee increases to $75.00. If a line crew is involved, additional fees wil apply.
