Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehab
We are investing in our community by making critical upgrades to keep our services reliable for years to come. One major milestone this year is the Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 2 Rehabilitation, which is on schedule for an end-of-year completion date.
Substation Rehab
Renovation of the India Road substation has begun. Initially constructed in 1973, all critical components within the station will be replaced. The $2.7M investment is the next in a series of substation rehab projects that Paris BPU has planned and executed. The substation will be out of service for a few months while work is ongoing but customers will see no impact from the change. As your public utility, we understand the assignment to make sure infrastructure is sustainable to bring you the essential services that you expect.
69 kV Transmission Line
Construction of the new 69kV transmission line between the Eagle Creek TVA delivery point and our Puryear Substation is underway. If you have traveled along Hwy 140 East, you have noticed the right-of-way has been widened to accommodate the 10-mile line. Completion of the project is expected in the spring of 2026. With the new line in service, Paris BPU will be better able to balance system load and respond to system challenges with greater resiliency.
