Customers may arrange for service by phone, mail, fax, or in person at our office. The applicant must provide two forms of identification:
- A government issued photo ID card, such as a driver’s license is required, and
- The second form of ID can be a birth certificate, a SSN card, a debit or credit card, etc…
New Construction Service Connections:
Connecting service for a new construction may take up to 2 weeks, depending on the weather and other conditions. You will need the 911 address, a copy of the septic system application, and a lot number if in a subdivision. Current service fees apply.
Connection of an Existing Service / Transfer of Service:
Starting, stopping, or transferring service can usually be done by the following business day:
- Next-Day Service Connection fee is $25.00.
- Same-Day Service Connection fee is $75.00.
Customers who have recently purchased a home must provide a deed or real estate contract.
Customers who are renting must provide a BPU Lease / Rental form completed by their landlord or a legal rent / lease agreement.
If service has been disconnected for a period of one year, a safety inspection will be required prior to connecting service.
Reconnect Policy:
- During Office Hours (7:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.):
- Customer will be required to pay balance of bill.
- Reconnect Fee is $35.00.
- After-Hours Reconnects:
- Payments must be made between 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. if a serviceman is required to reconnect service.
- Customer will be required to pay balance of bill.
- After-Hours Reconnect Fee is $75.00.
If a line crew is required to reconnect service, additional fees will apply.
